70 years later Israel declared as Jewish State
The Parliament of Israel passed a law on Thursday which is historical in many ways. Despite, some people not liking it, this law defines Israel as the state of the Jewish people. After the passage of this law, the country has officially become the land of Jews.
Let me tell you that it has been made a Jewish state 70 years after the formation of the Israel on May 14, 1948. In the Parliament, 55 out of 62 people voted in favor of the resolution. Hebrew has now become the national language of the country, and official status of Arabic has been abolished by giving it a special status. This law defines the Israel as the homeland of the Jews.
After nearly eight hours of debate in parliament, this bill was passed. Two MPs abstained during the vote in Parliament. This legislation defined as the Basic Laws have constitutional status.
The Israeli Arab MPs and the Palestinians condemned this bill and called the legislation racist. During his address, Ayman Odeh, head of the Arab Joint List Alliance, waving a black flag against this bill said, “This is an evil law,” “Today, I will have to tell my children, along with all the children of Palestinian Arab towns … that the state has declared that it does not want us here,” Odeh said in a statement later. “It has passed a law of Jewish supremacy and told us that we will always be second-class citizens.” In the bill the whole of Jerusalem is declared to be the capital of the country. On the other hand, the government supporting right-wing supporting the bill said that Israel is the historic homeland of the Jewish people.
They have unique right to national self-determination. On this bill, the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu said, the move was “a defining moment in the annals of Zionism and the history of the State of Israel.” Netanyahu continued. “Today we made it law. This is our nation, this is our language, this is our anthem, and this is our flag. Long live the State of Israel
Arabs comprise about 20 percent of country’s total population. They have been given equal rights under the law, but they have complained that they are being treated as second class citizen.
The long penance of the Jewish people has finally been answered.
